I have an RCA 5 disc changer Model # RP8070. I have programmed the CBL/SAT button using code 5 to identify it as a CD player, but none of the codes work (080, 081, 088, 089) as well as the Search for the code, no luck. Called Sony, they told me that it must not be compatible with that model. It is less than 4 years old and does have IR power on/off capability...any one have any ideas?
Thanks, Matt

Now, you did try the RCA codes manually, just in case the IR power didn't work but other stuff did?

Otherwise, it sounds like you've covered all the bases - that's the problem with preprogrammed codes.

Unfortunately, yes I did and had no luck...I'll probably step up to the RM_VL700 which has the learning capability. Thanks

Try code 089 again, but test all the keys, you'll probably find that the power key won't work, but play, pause and such should.
