Been reading and searching through the posts and need some assistance please...I just got my remote yesterday and have 2 problems....

1. My Sony amp is not being controlled by all the buttons on the AV3000 remote. None of the LCD controls (sound field, genre, etc.) are working?

2. I have a Dish Network 522 DVR which is addressed other than #1 because of getting sporadic channel changing during the day. I am unable to learn any of the codes, making the thought of having 1 remote now futile...I have tried learning various functions and the NG keeps blinking. I even tried programming to all the codes listed under PVR with no luck. BY the way, this is the 2nd remote (UHF) downstairs and the receiver and remote #1 is upstairs...if that makes a difference.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated as I do really want this to work ( to keep my wife out of remote control anger management class).

change you reciever to AV1, or learn all commands from the res remote to the 3000. Is your dish remote RF? (Put you hand over the front of it and change channeles, if it changes then it RF) Look at the remote and see if it says "UHF" or "infrared" If it is RF then the 3000 wont learn it (or any other learning remote) but, you can get a dish "IR" remote to teach to the 3000. You will only get channell up down, guide, numbers, power. no pvr functions, ff rw, pause, play, rec.
my 2.

I don't understand what changing the receiver to AV1 is..the receiver is NOT a Sony brand, it is the Dish Network 522 PVR??? The remote is downstairs and is a UHF signal to the receiver upsstairs. Are you saying to use my other remote upstairs to teach? But in doing so I can't use the PVR functions?

If so, then I am still using 2 remotes...which is not why I spent $ for a "integrated" remote...!!!

The av-3000 WILL NOT LEARN RF SIGNALS, and will not emit RF signals either. If you want the PVR commands to be entered into the av-3000, you will need an IR remote with the PVR commands to teach the av-3000. The only preset Dishnetwork code in any universal remote will be address #1.

big dog,

first, you need to changed the address to 1 for it to work. 2nd, you can enable the dish network receiver to the learing remote. I think it is menu>system setup>diagnostic>teach remote>.

Once you choose that, point the AV3000 about 5 inches away from the dish receiver itself, and do the normal programming, since everytime you press a button on the dish remote, it will send a signal to the receiver, and bounce back to your AV3000.

Hope this help.
