I have an Onkyo TX-DS777 Receiver which has a "On" and separate "Standby" function to turn the receiver on or off. I cannot seem to program or "learn" either of these functions on the existing power button under the amp setting. Any ideas?

And on a related issue, since the Sony remote only has one "power" button, how do I handle the separate on and off commands that my remote and receiver seems to use?

On the amp page relable two places to say "amp on" and "amp off" then teach those commands from your amp remote to those buttons. After that just use those commands in you macro's.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

Thanks for the reply cb1. That takes care of the "second" issue. For some reason however, following the directions, step by step, the Sony remote fails to "learn" the Onkyo's on or off command.

If it was a bad learn, you can't reteach until you clear the key.
