Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I've been having with the picture in picture feature on the remote.

This may be more of a TV issue than remote, but I'm not sure. I have a Sony KP-51WS520 projection tv (pretty sure that's the model, if it's not then I have something very very similar) and have a DirectTV dish. All the direct tv channels are only visible on channel 3 of the TV. When I use the tv remote to go to any other channel I just get static, but if I remain on channel 3 but use the DirectTV remote, it works.

The DirectTV dish's signal comes in on only 1 channel and the TV remote is virtually useless. If I try to use picture in picture then I get a clone of the same channel (channel 3, the channel that the DirectTV dish & receiver are coming into).

Is there anyway to make the picture-in-picture feature or index features work? Or get the tv remote to communicate with the reciever to change channels rather than using the direct tv remote?

Thank you in advance for any help

The built-in tuner of the Tv is useless to directv, it needs a satellite receiver. Since the Sat receiver can only output one channel at a time, PIP is useless unless you have two SAT receivers. Or if in addition to directv you have an Antenna or cable signal, it can be used in conjunction with directv to give you two picture PIP.
