I have a yamaha dvr-s60 dvd home theater system and I never had a remote for it. I just got a sony rm-v502 universal remote and based upon the recomended code (006) i programmed it but it doesn't work. I've also run the gamut of every other possible code out there but it isn't working either. Aside from blowing $99 on a replacement from yamaha and short of buying a new system does anyone have any suggestions ?

thanks

Not too many remotes that I checked out have codes for home theater systems. It seems to be the poor relation that nobody wants. Some RS and OFA remotes are starting to show HT codes, but none for Yamaha.

Did you try the Mini-HiFi Component System Codes? But if 006 doesn't work your DVD, then they might not work also, unless the CD code worked the DVD.

Other than that, I don't have much else to offer.

When you're trying these codes, do you have the Home theater on? Do, and try all keys, not just the power key.

Hey,
I used the codes for the dvd player for my remote it works the power and play. The volume is controlled by using the audio code. I know it sucks to have to flip but atleast it works. I have a toshiba remote. Good luck.

I have a Yamaha receiver and have a similar problem. What I have done is get two universal remotes, I found that each preset code I could get a few functions out and then program the other remote with these. The change to the next code and program what functions that it has to the second remote. By doing this I have got everything except power on.
