I have had this remote for a long time, and because of its wonderful ease of use its been sitting a box for the last few years. i put new batteries in it and just want to use it as a universal remote for my bedroom tv.

To program a code manually the instructions say to press commander off and then press muting will holding commander off, I do this and the screen lights up and has SET at the top and at the bottom i have LIGHT, DISPLAY, and OTHER.(blinking) I dont have PRESET like the instructions say i should??? i dont have any page indications that show i can scroll between muliple pages? I dont know what to do next.

If you know what im doing wrong please let me know.
Thanks,

Derrick

If you set up the remote previously using the Remote Editor, you will not be able to use the manual preset function.

You will either have to use the editor, or clear the remote so you can use the manual function.

I have a 4000, not a 4100, but the procedure should be the same.

I have a RMAX-4000 and want to us the On-Remote programming not
the AX-Editor software. It was originally programmed using a PC
How to I reset it so I can program it manually?

Thanks in advance.

You would have to clear the remote completely in order to use the manual setting function, but I can't find anything that says that, or how to do it.

The only thing I could find on clearing the remote was the following on clearing components, which you would have to do for each component you have loaded.

I don't want to test this on mine because, even though I don't use it, I need it set up in order to research questions, so if you try this, be sure and post the results here.

Deleting a component (Advanced mode)
You can delete unnecessary components (Component key).

Delete a component when the existing component is no longer necessary, such as when you replace an AV component.

Note
If you delete a component, any XPRESS function that includes that component will also be deleted. So proceed with caution, being careful not to delete necessary data.

Click the "ADVANCED" tab in the lower left of the screen to switch to Advanced mode.

Click the component you want to delete from the component list in the upper left of the screen.

Click "Delete" in the upper right of the screen.

A dialog box appears for you to confirm the deletion.

Click "Yes."

The component selected in step 2 is deleted
