Just wondering if any newer models similar to my VL900 have the code already in them to operate a sat dvr such as hughes already in them without having to learn each new command>?

Both vl700 & vl710 have preset codes for tivo, none are strictly tailored for HD-Tivo though.

Thanks for the reply.

The 710 is the newer model correct?

Does anyone know if the VL-1000 also has the present codes for Hughes/TIVO?

Edmund. I just want to say I purchased the 710 last night. Overall I am happy with the remote. Yes, the code manual says It will operate Hughes Satellites but the code for it is 3004 and it does not work my HR10-250. So, I had the remote "learn" all the essential functions including the DVR buttons. Unlike my VL900 which for some reason wouldnt learn ANY of my Hughes remote functions, this one picked them up the first time.
Though I am dissapointed that the code for Hughes did not work with the remote out of the box, overall I am just happy that I am back to a one remote solution and all this took place under 30 minutes compared with the over 3 hours I put into setting up my harmony 880 which was still never really correct.

The tivo code in the 710 is sat 3204, that hughes code is for standard sat receivers.
