I attempted to program my universal remote RM-Y187 to operate my TIVO box. In tinkering with it, my tv (KV-36XBR800) will no longer work with the remote now. It still operates my Toshiba DVD player, so I know the remote works. Could the factory setting for the TV have been changed when I was trying to program it for something else?

Did you move the slide switch on the side of the remote? I don't know if this affects the operation of the TV but I can't think of anything else.

Other than that, there isn't much you could have done to mess up the TV setting since the code set only works with other components.

I did get it to work...I found a Sony TV code online somewhere, 801, and used it as if I was programming another electronic. I don't know how the factory code could have been reset when I was doing this, but I'm glad it works now. Thanks.
