Looking at getting a new remote to run all the crap I've been collecting associated with my TV. I've been reading for a while and I still am not sure if I completely understand macros. I believe they are used to get one button to do several commands in sequence. Thier are two main things I want this remote to do.

1. When I power on the TV. I want the cable box, tv and audio system to turn on at once.

2. When I switch from Cable to dvd, I want the audio input to change and the input on the tv to change.

Will this remote do that?

Thanks.

In a word: yes.

Virtually anything that you have a key for on your remote can be included in a macro.

Which means if you can do the operation from your original remote or the 2500, then you can make a macro.

Depending on your equipment, you should not have any problems, and since you will have a learning remote, you can teach any commands to the 2500 that are not in the preset compnent code.

To explain a macro, you put the remote in the proper mode to make a macro, you press the keys you want to use in the macro, and then you exit the macro mode. Then, when you press the macro key you assigned to this operation, all the commands will be sent and the components will react accordingly.

It will be easier to understand when you get the remote and learn how to make the macro, and if you have any questions then, let us hear from you.

Thanks for the quick and simple response. From what I gather. This is the one of the best remotes for the money right now. 85.00 on ebay with shipping.
