No matter what I do, once I program the remote with the PC software, I cannot control the receiver volume unless the remote is on the RCVR component. Otherwise it tries to control the TV volume.

What in the world?

I bought this thing thinking it would be better than my AV3000, but I am seriously having my doubts. The software SUCKS.

If you follow the procedure on pages 57-58, you can set the volume control so it will always select the receiver volume. You can do this on the remote without accessing the PC programming.

Once I have downloaded my programming to the remote that option is no longer available. The only options available from the Commander Off + Muting is Light, Display and Other. If I reflash to defaults I can change the setting, but once I program again, it goes back to controlling the TV volume and no way of changing it from the remote.

what I did on my ax-4000 was this:

all my devices go through my a/v receiver so that is the only volume I have.. actually my tv volume is disabled through its menu.

after setting up all my devices and xpress functions on the rm-ax4000 I went back to each device screen and changed the volume button by editing its function and choosing the alias for stereo volume up, down and mute.. and then saved the device again.. this will and does work..

This remote has the worst software. I had to program all my remotes which took 1hr, absolutely rediculous.
