I have a Sony RM-YD002 that came with my KDF-E60A20. Since my trusty VL900 died, I'm trying to get away with using the "stock" remote until I have the cash to replace the VL900.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to program in the (Sony) AV receiver. It has a code for it but no button for AV. I was hoping I could set the volume as "global" to the AV. Perhaps someone out there has some experience with this set up?

I can't really understand what the manual is saying about this, but it looks like you use the DVD/VCR key as a multi-function key, for either a VCR, DVD, or receiver, but from what I read you can only program one of those devices to that key. So if you program it for your receiver, you can't also program it for a VCR and/or a DVD.
There is no volume punch-through function available, so if you want to use the receiver's volume and muting controls, you would have to press the VCR/DVD button first, and then go back to TV to control your TV.
Original equipment TV remotes are well known for their lack of versatility.
