Been using an AV3000 for all home theatre stuff for the last 2 years, so decided to get an AV3100 for the bedroom equipment(yv, cable, dvd player)

i pretty much know what im doing with the remote regarding programming etc but have the following problem.

I like to programme all the buttons by myself manually and not use any codes etc and started off by clearing any learned codes to all the buttons on the LCD by holding the delete key and pressing the lcd key at the same time. On the TV screen ive done this all apart from the number "0" when i hold the Del key and press the "0" key the unit locks up and i have to rmeoe and insert the battery again.
I thought this was a one off but have the exact same problem when trying to do the above with the hard button Recall key when im in the STB screen!!

I havent done the DVD component yet so am not sure if im going to get this with one of the jeys there.

anyone got any ideas why its locking up??

cheers
Si

If their is nothing learned into a button, you dont have to delete it(if it is flashing then nothing is learned to it) For some unexplained reason the 3100 will lock up when learning some functions, and in you case when deleting them(I have never had that problem)
So dont delete unless you have to.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

The only way to get the buttons back is to reset the whole remote, I'm sure thats not what you wanted to here. If you decide to do the reset and start over, when you learn the new commands be sure and hold down the teaching remote button until the 3100 beeps. (long burst)
