read my scenario below and let me know if anyone else sees this (I think it is a bug) or if you think it is a defective unit..

1. the issue is regarding sync-up feature
a. I have reviewed this for many hours, reset unit to factory defaults and redid procedure many times with same results and would like your techs to simulate and advise.
2. my scenario is this.
a. I have an express function called TV
b. components included in this function are: TV, DVR, and RECVR
c. my TV component has one button to turn power on/off
d. my DVR does not have a power button
e. my RECV has separate buttons for power on and off
f. my TV has one button to change between all inputs
g. my RECV has separate buttons for each input
h. all audio goes through recvr and picture through TV..

I will now adv sequence when creating express function TV

1. I choose the purpose (watch TV) express name xpress_TV
2. I choose "I use TV to see picture"
3. I choose "I use stereo (name of my recvr component)to hear sound"
4. I respond "Yes" I use the same button to switch inputs on my TV
5. I indicate I have 7 inputs and the DVR is on input titled Video 1 and that is the 2nd input from initial
6. Then I train the remote with the tv power and input change buttons
7. Next it wants to learn about the Stereo remote so I respond like this
a. I advise I have one button for power on and one for off
b. I advise that I have separate buttons for the input selection of the recvr
c. I advise input name is DTV
d. I then train the remote for power on, off and DTV input buttons.
The wizard closes.

Now the problem..

The xpress function works just like it is supposed to, each separate component screen (via components button) all work fine BUT.......

I simulated a missed command event to test the sync-up and found this problem...

my simulation was that the recvr did not receive the command to change to DTV input.

so here is what I found>

I ran sync-up and did this:
1. power on for dvr=done (shows pwr button and done button, both operational)
2. power on for tv=done (shows pwr button and done button, both operational)
3. power on for rcv=done (shows pwr button and done button, both operational)
4. set input for tv to video 1=done (shows input button and done button, both operational)
5. set input for rcvr to BLANK (instead of saying DTV)... this is where there is a problem. the screen shows input button and done button. The input button is not operational (no beep, no action). I just have to hit done, then go direct to component for recvr and set input.

what I think is going on is that the software and/or remote sync up function are ignoring the fact that the recvr uses separate buttons to change inputs instead of one button or for some reason the "input" button on the screen "set recvr input to...." is not containing the learned command from the wizard for “TV" On the component screen for the RECVR I do not have an "input" button, just the actual input buttons titled "dvd", "MD", "Tuner", "DTV" etc.. The sync-up should either copy the appropriate command to the "input" button for the sync-up screen for the express activity in question or instead of showing the input button it should show the button "DTV" (for this scenario) and state "set recvr input to DTV" but for some reason it says "set recvr input to..." (blank) and the input button is there and does nothing..

Please advise if this is a bug so I dont waste my time shipping back and forth and wait for a firmware update/software update..

Thanks
Derrick
