I've got an RM-VL900 and i'd like to set up a macro to turn my TV (sharp aquos) & amp (denon avr2800) off. I have the macro set up correctly and it seems to be activing both the power buttons for both the amp & TV. also, both power buttons work when pushed independently (not part of marco).

when i use the macro, it's as though the remote sends the TV power code twice, because the screen just flickers and the TV remains on. if the TV it turned off when i use my macro, it turns on normally.

i reprogrammed the macro just to turn the TV on (no amp) and got the same problem. does anyone know why hitting the TV power button would behave different when part of a macro as opposed to me hitting it directly?

thanks

If you learned the codes for the TV, you'll likely want to relearn the POWER button, this time holding the source button down until the remote finishes capturing. If you learn a non-repeating code by simply pressing the button quickly, for some reason the remote will repeat these three times in a macro, which your device may sense as two or three pushes of the button.

The reason it works OK when the TV is turned off is likely because most TVs are blind to commands for several seconds after powering on (so it senses the "power" command once, then ignores the rest). However there is no similar period of blindness when turning off...

that makes sense except: the TV power button (learned from the original remote) works fine to turn the TV on and off. it's only when i'm using it as part of a macro that it wont turn the TV off.
