I've been reading everyone's comments on the new Sony AV 4000. I have a 3000 and am very happy with it. But I was considering buying the 4000. The main reason is that I was not satisfied with the 3000's inability to label buttons on the touchscreen. You can choose between 4 preset labels per button. I have already used the buttons at the bottom of the touchscreen (which can be labeled manually). My question is...will the 4000 give me the ability to label the touchscreen buttons, or am I stuck with the 4 preset choices for labels?

As was mentioned in some of the threads you've previously posted in, the screen on the RM-AX4000 is similar to the RM-AV3000, in that the small square buttons can only choose from predefined labels.

If you wish, the menual is available here, which should show you exactly how the screen is divided.

Thanks Daniel. After looking thru the manual, I was unclear as to what the Xpress button is for. Can you enlighten me?

The Xpress button allows you to create macros so that you can perform tasks such as turn the TV on, turn the REceiver on, switch the receiver to DVD, switch the TV input to input 6, turn the dvd on etc. I currently have two of these setup for either watching cable or watching a dvd. hope this gives you the idea

Steven, I have owned a 3000 for the past 3 years, and bought the 4000. The screen is so much better you wont belive. After I turned mine on I was blown away. The buttons on the screen are larger and much eisier to read. Unfortunaly mine was defected so I had to send it in for a replacement. Cant wait to get it back.
