I could really use a tip here. My wife has extremely limited hand and arm mobility, so the Sony AV2100 macros are great. The problem is this. I have it programed so that the system 1 button turns on the tv, then the amp, then the cable box. So far, so good. Then , however, when she tries to change the channel. the channel of the tv changes instead of the channel on the cable box. Since the tv needs to remain on channel 3, this messes things up. Is there a way to lock the channel change buttons so that they only change the cable box channel? Thanks for any help.

Yes, just learn the chan up and down(and whatever other cable box commands you need)
press and hold com off
press TV
all buttpns should flash
point remotes at each other about 4 inches apart
press chann up on 2100
press and hold chan up on cable remote until 2100 beeps
repeat for other functions

if a button is not flashing, then somthing is already learned to it
to reset or 3erase
ress andholdreset at top left of touchscreen
press desired button to br erased
l
button will flash again ready to learn command
good luck

Cb, thanks for the response. I should have been clearer.. sorry. I am not looking to lock the touchscreen buttons for channel, I am looking for a way to make the actual buttons that are marked channel +/- so that they only change the channel on the cable box, not the tv. If you know how to do this, I would be very grateful.

cb1's instructions are correct, but I think you are under the impression that you cannot learn on the hard buttons. You can, so teach the cable box channel buttons to the hard 2100 channel buttons.

When you put the 2100 in learn mode, and press the volume + or volume - button, learn will flash and v+ or v- will appear on the screen.

You guys were right, of course. Thank you so much from both of us for solving this. Worked like a charm.
