Probably no codes for DVD recorders, so you will have to learn everything from the original remote, if you have it.

Yes, Sony DVD-Rs seem to use a completely unique code number that differs from single or jukebox DVDs.

I have a sony RDR-VX500 and am trying to find a remote control that is compatible with its many functions. Will any of the universal remotes work? If so can you suggest one?
