My remote indicates its time to change batteries. Is there anything i need to do before i change them so i dont lose anything ?

We have a 20 second rule for the 3000, which means after you take out the old batteries, wait at least 20 seconds before you start to put in the new batteries.
We haven't had any reports of the 3100 losing programming by not following this rule, but what's 20 seconds compared to reprogramming the entire memory?
