New to the forums and u-remotes. Just have a few standard devices. A dvd/vhs combo and cable box. Getting tired of using all the remotes. My sony tv remote, wont control my dvd/vhs as far as I can tell. Like the look of the sony remotes. Any advice on what to get. Thinkin maybe the 3000 for the 80 something price sounds good.

You can't go wrong at that price, and Walmart has a good return policy.

You should consider whether you can live with a large, touch-screen remote. The 3000 is great, and I have one, but it is not for everyone. That said, you should try it. If you don't like it, consider the RM-VL900, which is a very good hard button remote with a lot of memory.

What brand of dvd/vhs combo is it? I mean is it one of the newest ones, or heaven forbid a Sony Dream Machine? If you can work it with the 3000, then the 900 will also work it, but if you can't you might consider a OneForAll 8810/8811 (same remote) also at Walmart.

As long as you have the original DVD/VCR remote, you can easily learn its commands to the 3000, 900, 700, etc.
