I recently bought this remote (RM-V402) b'se the original remote works no more on my Sony G330 Hi-Fi system. To my surprise the the system responds only to volume control, disk change and track change.

None of the other functions work. To power on the system I need to use RCVR+Power, The CD+power does not work.

Is this all I can do with this remote? though some thing is better than nothing, I guess...

Can I get remote to work on Tuner, Tape, Video (to playback the audio from tv)...

please advice, thanks in advance

The audio codes sony is using now aren't in any universal remote. I doubt if your stereo can be set back to old codeset known to universals. And the V402 isn't a learning remote, so you're out luck.

I have the same problem, I got the same remote, and since everything I have is Sony, I thought it would work, but the remote won't work with my Component MHC-WZ5, it only turns it on, I can turn it to tape, md and cd, but the play button, or forward, or any playback function will work, or the radio!

Now, you're setting up each component individually - receiver/tuner, CD, tape, etc?

Unfortunantly you need one device for each portion of the mini system. One button for receiver/tuner. One for CD. One for tape. Just change three of the buttons on your remote to that type of device (see manual), then input the appropriate Sony codes... see if those do anything different.
