i have a 25R-S100 sharp Tv. I am either an idiot or the remote/tv is broken. the remote that came with the Tv doesn't work except for when i press the MUTE button and the INPUT button. I can't change the channel, turn the volume up or down or Power the tv on or off. so i bought the sony all in one remote. that doesn't work at all. or i couldn't get it to work. please help. the tv works fine otherwise.

I couldn't find your exact model, but I came close to it, and the remote for it also operates a vcr. This may sound too simple, but are you sure you didn't press the vcr button (if there is one, or any other button) by mistake. Try pressing the tv button. Other than this, I can't offer any solution.
If you have fresh batteries in it and it still doesn't operate the tv, then it is very possible it is broken.
What model Sony remote did you buy. Your tv is a current model, I believe, so any universal remote should work it.
If you can't get either remote to work, try either a Radio Shack 15-2116 or the OneForAll 8810W at Walmart.
Usually both of these brands will work with most anything made.
