I'n new at this and appreciate any guidance. Is there any advantages of the 3100 over the 3000? I can buy the the AV3000 for about $40 less than the 3100. Will use it with a Comcast (Motorola) HD cable box, 3 yr old Mitsubishi TV, new Integra (Onkyo) surround receiver, Onkyo DVD player, Sony VCR.

Also .. is there a code for the Comcast Motoroloa HD box? THANKS

The 3100 is supposed to have somewhat less bugs, and has a few more features (like key aliasing, micro macros, fading backlight, etc.)

Motorola = General Instruments = Jerrold, yes there should be codes.

Not sure that Sony has worked out many of the bugs that exist with the 3000 in the 3100 model. I am experiencing many bugs including complete lock-up on some keys which may lead me to resetting the entire remote.
