Hi guys

Have just bought the AV3000 and I'm having difficulty with the MACRO. I'm just trying somthing very simple (turn on the TV then the Amp, then turn off the TV then AMP) and the following is happening...The TV turns on as does the amp (fine) with MACRO 1, but when I press the MACRO 2 to turn both off, the TV turns off but the AMP does not (it recieves the signal but turns back on again)! I have adjusted the interval speed but this still does not work and I know that it tunrs on and off fine as it is already fully programmed into the AV3000, just seems to be an issue with the MACRO...The AMP is a Sony STR DE-495...Can anyone help? I also cannot seem to work out how to only send the POWER OFF signal as this may resolve the problem...?!?! HELP!

If you are using sys 1 or 3, be sure to do a reset, and and then a delete. If you dont stray commands from the previous macro may still be there. This may not be you problem.
Try this, you can teach the 3000 the "sony system off" command (either a green button on the reciever remote, or a combination of two green buttons) teach that to the 3000, then add it to the end of your "off command"
Or in you off command do this: amp, tv(any amp input turns on the reciever) power.
This will dicretly turn on the amp, then power will turn it off.
If you have a sony TV , or other sony equip let me know
you can make your remote work effortlessly.

Bennet, first of all, be aware that on Sony receivers, any INPUT command will turn the receiver on. Also, if you haven't found the POWER OFF command, are you using the POWER TOGGLE command? If so, perhaps this may be related to a question I have regarding repeated commands in macros--see: .

Hi. Thanks! Just tried this (RESET then DEL) abd tried the MACRO again....still no joy. The Power button on the AV3000 is learnt from the Green button the the AMP's remote and works fine (Powers on and off) when just using the AMP section of the remote but it still cannot seem to turn the AMP off in the MACRO?

Hi. I've just figured it out! I have programmed the MACRO to turn off the TV then turn off the AM twice (POWER then POWER again). For some reason this works? Is this normal?

There is no way to preset the volume on the receiver when it is turned on. I checked the manual and it states that the receiver will turn on with the same volume setting it was in when turned off, so there is no way to program the receiver for a certain volume level. If you are worried about the receiver being in too high a volume setting when turned on, you can include a few "volume down" commands in your macro to safeguard your speakers (or your ears) when turning on the receiver.

Ron is correct, the Sony receivers power up to their previous volume level. On some (STR-D611) the 'Muting' also powers up to its former state; on others (STR-DE595) it does not. For those which do not, you can include a 'Mute' command in your macro following Power ON. The receiver will recognise and apply the MUTE even in that several-second state before it turns on the speakers.
