Long day at work,sorry.

Pressing the input/device button gets the remote ready for the next command.
Press input
THEN
press 1=input 1

You have toi do this within asecond or so.

Try it with the mits remote and the TV before you try to learn it to the 3000. (to get used to the timing.

If the power and stop work , then the rest eill also.

iF YOU HAVE A S-VIDEO HOOKED TO INPUT 1 it will over ride the composite (yellow)
these discrete codes work,I use them all the time.

I put them on a unused page VCR-2 for example, I teach the 1-4 inputs into the numbers, I relable ant a and ant b, comp 1, comp 2, dtv, then teach the discrete input to that button. I dont teach it to the TV page becaause I relable the lables to my favorite channels, espn, abc, cbs, ect. And of course you would want the numbers to be the actuall numbers.

Let me know if you need more help.

CB1 - Thanks again.

When I press Input, does it matter if its Input up or down? Okay, I press Input and then press the #1 button. Thats all right? It then automatically should equal Input 1 or do I have to teach it that it = Input 1. Im a little confused as you instructions can be read two ways. If I have to teach it that it = Input 1, where is the = button and where is the Input 1 button? I dont think thats what you are getting at, but nonetheless..... the buttons dont work the other way. Also, S Vid does NOT override Video 1. Its its own Input. Im at a loss here bro.

Cheers,
Brad

I will try and clarify a little to get you going until cb1 finishes his hard day’s work and gets back to you. When you press the input button on your Mitsubishi remote, it cycles you through the inputs on your tv (input 1, 2, etc.), right? So, when you are working with the discrete codes on the Mits remote, the = sign means that input+1 will go to input 1 on your tv, input+2 will go to input 2 on your tv, etc. Get the picture. Have you tried pointing the Mits remote at your tv and pressing input and then 2-it should go directly to input 2 on your tv. This is what a discrete code does. If you can’t make that work, then it won’t work if you try and teach it to the AV3000, so you have to figure out how to change the inputs on your tv using this method before you try and teach discrete commands to the 3000. I gather your input is a rocker switch which will cycle through your inputs either up or down, but it shouldn’t make a difference whether you press up or down so try it both ways and see which works. I think that when you press 090 it puts you in a discrete mode and the keys don’t work in their normal way to control the tv. Is this right? Since cb1 usually answers at night after work, I am trying to get you to try all possible combinations so you can better inform him of what is going wrong. Also, do any of the keys cb1 said to press take you to the S Vid? If not, try some of the other keys and see what happens.

I GOT IT!!!! Not exactly sure how, but I think it was just a matter of (duh) understanding the order of pressing the buttons (in discreet mode) and then, seeing what each one does. Yes, Input 1 does = S Video. CB1 was right. Sorry for doubting.

In any event, I assigned the discreet codes to Labels on my TV Component, then programmed in the steps I wanted for each Compenent Macro. Works like a dman charm.

You guys have been bot hpatient and awesome. Thanks so much and move on to the next case. CB1 can stay at work.

Kindest regards and respect,
Brad Gellman
