Has anyone ever programmed the Bose system with the NON-Infared remote? The Bose system has two infared deals on it, but the remote itself is not infared so I have to go through the PRESET and am having NO luck.

Can anyone assist???? thanks

Go to the following site. It explains how to change your system to send IR commands so you can program another remote: [Link: mirror.bose.com] The info you need is on page 33.

Hey thanks for the IR page in the Bose manual. I did do this the other day, but still cannot find the Bose Code using the Search function ont he Sony RM-AV3000. I have tried every component button to find the LiefStyle and still no luck.

I called Sony and they said try AMP and DVD. Neither worked. It's just hard to believe that Sony could not tell me how or where to find the code for Bose.

Thanks and I'll keep trying.

Sorry I misunderstood your question. Calling Sony usually doesn't help. Since there are no codes shown for the Bose in the Component Code listing, I guess the only thing you can do is to teach all the commands from the Bose to the AV3000. Your button keys probably won't show the correct description, but you can always change the label keys.

Well, This sounds OK if there is a solution, but how do I train the buttons if the Bose remote is RF and not IR?

The IR remotes are cool and easy to learn from, but the BOSE remote is impossibel.

Does this make sense?

I am finally understanding the Bose instructions. Where it says "Send IR commands", turn it ON. The remote will still send RF, but your Bose SYSTEM will send IR commands. It says: This setting may be useful to send Lifestyle remote commands to other IR remote controls. So, your Bose RF remote sends commands to the system, which in turn sends IR commands. Find out where the commands come out of your Bose system, hold the AV3000 opposite it, and teach away. You can also turn on the Receive IR commands, so your Bose can receive commands from your AV3000. I haven't figured out from the manual if your Bose can receive IR and RF commands at the same time, but you can play with it and find out, if you need to. It all boils down to the fact that the Bose remote remains RF, but the Bose system can be either (or both, maybe).

Well Still NO go. When I bought this remote I was told that it could do anything.....well, it hasn't proven to run a Bose Lifestyle system yet.
If someone figures this out....you da man / woman

Well, I thought we had this solved. Are you sure you followed all of the instructions? I stopped at a Bose store the other day and the salesman said the LS28/35 would do what I said they would do. If you set it to IR, and hold the 3000 near the IR blaster on the LS28, when you push the command on the Bose remote, the 3000 should learn the command. I don't think it is the 3000, so be sure you have followed all the steps correctly. Not trying to defend the 3000; just trying to make sure you haven't missed something. As complicated as the 3000 is, and adding the complicated steps on the Bose, it probably isn't easy to work with.

I was able to get the AV-3000 to work with the Bose35 Make sure you are learning the codes from the BOSE Unit and NOT from the Bose remote. The IR is sent from the unit not the white remote control. The only buttons I had trouble learning where the top (TV , VCR,DVD,etc) buttons. If the 3000 is not picking up the codes try holding the 3000 at different locations around the unit.

Thanks again for the comments, but I ahve been through everything that has been mentioned.
I even went as far as plugging in the extra 7' IR cable to the Bose system and holding the remote directky to it.

The Bose rep told me to make sure that went starting the learning process that the "Send IR commands" was on and the t"Receive IR commands" was off. Train the remote and then switch the IR from On to Off and ect.
Didn't work.....May be something wrong with my Bose.

I have held the Bose remote and the 3000 side by side with the IR directly in front as well as the two remotes being directly in front of the Bose unit itself.
I hit "Power" on the 3000 (while in learning) and then hit Power on the Bose....nothing happens and I have tried many times.

The guy from Bose told you wrong. If the "Receive IR commands" is off, then it WON'T receive IR commands. The "Receive IR commands" must be on for the Bose to receive IR commands from the 3000. Make sense? If you have already turned the "Receive IR commands" on and it still doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you.
