I just placed an order with ComputAbility for the Sony remote, total after FedEx shipping was $134.70. They are indeed on backorder, but the nice lady on the other end assured me that my credit card would not be billed until the unit shipped.

I placed my order a few weeks back with computability at which time they were backordered, they told me it would be awhile, but at $125 (shipping included) I couldn't say no.

Status update as of today, they will be lucky to get them in around the second week of October.

So it'll be a couple of weeks. At that price, I'm not complaining. Plus, they don't charge 'til it ships, so there's no loss. I can deal with my 5 remotes until then. ; )

Very impressed with the service from Computability. USD$145.00 shipped to Australia and it arrived today (06 Oct 98) after being posted on 01 Oct 98. This was standard US Post Air Mail !

Can't wait to get home and set it up (and clear away all of those dammned remotes!)
