I am thinking about buying one of the above receivers. Anyone that can comment on the compatiblity would be appreciated. I have the 90es and am selling it so I may get something that is not so remotely-challenged! Any offers???

YES! The RM-AV2000 will work with any of those receivers. However, the nifty 2-way communication function will not work. I am buying a 30ES "real soon now" and have tested it in the store. Works like a charm.

If anyone that has a 9000 ES, would you please post any troubles you may have had with learning or using certain commands.

Thanks

I own a 50ES but from what I heard 50ES remotes seem not to use exactly the same IR code as 9000ES'. I was using a ccf file delivered by Paul Shen who has teached a lot of codes from the sony remote (50ES as well). Adding more I didn't have any problems with the functions buttons. The direct access DSP mode buttons made some trouble first. But I've found a way to learn them all, though the code might not be super-clean I'm happy with them as they do work perfectly.

There's a thread about the 9000ES remote at www.prontoedit.com in the programming forum.

geez, wrong forum damnit! :) Thought was in the pronto message board, but I must have clicked the wrong link and didn't notice this first. Well, I haven't seen the RM-AV2000 myself but if you can afford it, Pronto is the remote to go.
