Being a cheap S.O.B., I spent about an hour today surfing around and calling various internet sites to see if anyone could beat the Computability.com and Jandr.com prices. I didn't...anyway, I called 800-REMOTES (Portland, OR) and talked with a woman who couldn't for the life of her find ANYTHING out about the AV2000 (wierd...), but was "holding a Sony RM-TP501." She said it had a "cool blue touchscreen" and "a little pen you use to select the stuff on the screen with..." I didn't ask about the dimensions, but the way she described it, it sounded very, very small. She said the retail price on it was $450-$500, but "wasn't sure" (wierd again...).

I can't find ANYTHING about this on the internet. Anyone heard of it? Thanks.

The RM-TP501 is the 2-way remote that comes with the Sony 50ES receiver. It will only operate 2-ways with that receiver, and is in fact pre-programmed only: you can't learn signals.

Sircs-

Where did you get a RM-TP501 that is a learning remote? As far as I am aware, it is the touchscreen remote that comes with the 50es receiver and 9000es preamp. I have the 50es and the TP501 that came with it is NOT a learning remote.

Thanks
