My new Sony 4k tv does not pick up the Buffalo PBS station WNED.

I am in west end Toronto, with a DB4E antenna mounted about 30 feet up on the roof peak of my two story house. It is grounded, with no amplifier or booster of any kind. A channel scan on my 6 year old Samsung HD tv picks up the usual Toronto and Buffalo channels, including WNED (17-1) from Buffalo no problem (the simple bar graph graphic shows signal strength around 40 - 50% for this station, but the picture is fine).

But when I change the same antenna cable from the old tv to the new Sony, I get all the same channels *except* WNED. Looking for suggestions on...
1. Why no PBS station on my new tv?
2. Is there anything I can try to get PBS again?

This is a problem first posted in this forum back in 2008.  RB SMITH2000 from Denver posted a solution to this problem at the bottom of the page.

If that does work...

Note that the quality of the tuner in each TV model varies. Consumer Reports actually did a comparison of the reception in digital TV converter boxes. WNED's signal is probably too weak to be picked up by your SONY 4K. Check to see if your SONY TV has a signal quality feature.

Also, tune to digital channel 43 and see if you get anything.  Channel 43-7 does display WNED-FM's radio signal on some TVs.

This is a link to SONY's website if a factory reset is necessary.

As one post in the linked forum suggested, I don't think you will find a great turner in a small or inexpensive TV. I suggest waiting for the new ATSC 3.0 models to come out, the IP signals are (suppose to be) better in receiving.
