Installed in Ajax is an antenna I installed 18 years ago on the outside of our house.
Got if from what is now Circuit City.
It looks like a white UFO, and receives all the Hamilton, Buffalo and Toronto stations.
It worked OK for the analogue days, but the reception in ATSC is terrific.
Inside the white UFO it is a rotor devise of some sort.
This antenna works well for me, so it may be the sort of thing that may help you.
Those "UFO" antennas work great if the unit has a 'clear' view of the transmitter AND you're inside the 40 mile reception radius..
