After being unable to program my Amazon Fire Stick remote to control my JVC LT58EC3508 TV, I decided to try the "Auto Test" feature of the "IR Code Finder NEC protocol" Android app. This feature runs through all of the codes in the app's database one-by-one.

Lo and behold, partway through my TV turned on. According to the app, the magical code corresponds to device/address "01FE" and command "48B7".

Is there a way to translate these NEC protocol codes to an IR profile code to feed to my Amazon Fire Stick?

No, the fire tv remote only goes by tv brand, it can't be hacked. Do yourself a favor get a UEI made remote like the ofa urc-7880 or Inteset 422-3 universals remotes, they have code searches, and blink back feature to identify the code. Once you find a working code look up all brands in the UEI manual that use that code. Take those brands and search fire tv remote for the brand's codes. Going forward whatever oem remote or universal you get, you know the tv brands to try that match your tv. Come back list those here to help others in the future. :)

Sorry for the very delayed reply, I didn't get a notification of your post for some reason. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll get one of those remotes and report back!

Hi Edmund. I picked up a URC7880 but the manual does not mention anything about a blink back feature. Could you explain, please? Thanks.

EDIT:
I found a description of this feature for some other models: [Link: hifi-remote.com]
Hopefully, the procedure is the same on this remote, I'll give it a try later today.

I tried all of the TV codes in the URC7880 manual and none of them were able to power my TV off. The TV did actually respond to the Hidear brand TV code (3817) but the buttons were not quite right: power resulted in 9, 1 resulted in 2, etc. There was only a single code for this brand and surprisingly it is not in Amazon Fire Stick's vast list of brands. Am I out of luck?

To use these codes with your Amazon Fire Stick, you'll need to convert them into a format that the Fire Stick can understand. The Fire Stick uses a different IR profile format, which is typically expressed as a string of hexadecimal values.
