Hello. I'm unfamiliar with the in depth workings of universal remotes, and I need help with a very specific situation... I have an HDMI switcher,, but I lost the remote it came with. Ihave a spare PHAZR-5 remote that my cable company gave me, and I wanna know how I can set it up to work with my switcher. Can someone help me please? The more in depth explanation, the better. Thank you!

Cable remotes don't typically work with HDMI switchers. They usually have a database of codes built into them for things like DVD players and TVs. that said, it would be helpful to know what the brand/model is of the HDMI switcher.

If his cable remote were made by UEI, using advanced codes for individual functions(efc's), it could emit the commands depending on oem remote and brand of Hdmi switcher. [Link: remotecentral.com]
