which universial remote can i purchase that you do not have to point the remote at the equipment in order to make it work. my equipment is behind me. thanks.

The Pronto has an extremely strong IR beam. I've been able to use the remote to control items while I've been out on my deck, in my kitchen, and everywhere in between. I find the strength to be quite amazing. I do know the Hk/Iriq has a very narrow beam pattern, so you would have to point it directly at the equipment. That why I brought my version of those remotes back and exchanged them with a Pronto.
