For want of a new output board for my now deceased RCA 25" monitor, I now have a new 32" Sony TV. However I also have two RCA VCRs that I don't want to replace. The odd functions on the TV are: PIP and the TV/Video pushbutton (which switches the TV between the tuner and the two backpanel RCA jacks that I want to use for the VCRs). The VCRs use a menu function to program the units, but once you access the menu function, simple numbers command the sub-function.

Right now I have two remotes, neither of which will do the entire job. My question is: Will the SL-9000 integrate these functions such that I can get by with a single, universal remote?

I realize that most of you out there are doing a lot more with your systems than I am. Please take pity on a poor neophyte and let me know if it's safe to order the SL-9000. My humblest thanks.

Well, I can't say for 100% - but chances are very good that everything you need is already implemented, especially considering those are popular brands of equipment. But remember - if you have the original remotes, the SL9000 will learn anything that isn't pre-programmed.
