I bought a SIMA SUR-25 and I like this remote very much but it has bugs which SIMA confirmed as being caused by the software rev being 13 issues old (I just bought the remote 2 weeks ago). The only way to fix this is to return it to the factory which I am not to willing to do (did you guys know that the data cable to transfer MCU programs, which is a feature of this remote, doesn't exist). Customer support from SIMA has been awfull and I'm ready to return the remote.
The questions is what are the options? I can't spend $200 on the Sony -3000 and I haven't found anything as nice as the SIMA unit. I am thinking about the VL-1000 from Sony. Any sugestions?
Regards, Chris

I have had that same remote since February and I'm having problems that it won't learn certain devices. Support is non existent, I get the standard "erase the device or button and learn it again" answer. They don't even comprehend the problem. The sad thing is I really like the remote aside from the issues I'm having. Your best bet is to return the remote and spend the extra $ for a better remote.

If you decide to ditch the Sima, try the RCA RCU1000 or the uCommand 525, they're both somewhat similar to the Sima.
