my new b&k ref20 preamp came with a remote that appears to be the ht master sl-900.
i have been unable to get it to work with my rca dss receiver- i don't have the model # handy but it has digital out and a uhf remote. i know the ht master dosn't do uhf but i thought the dss receiver could handle ir as well.
anyone have any luck?

I have a Kenwood IR remote that does control my RCA DSS (model 5350? -- I don't know for sure, but it's the 3rd gen. single LNB), so I guess it does handle IR codes as well as the UHF.

I had the RCA receiver that you have. It is the 515. This is the 3rd. gen. high end receiver. It use IR because that is what I used. I only had it for a few days and sent it back so I could buy a Toshiba DVD, so I never even used the remot ethat came with it. I used a universal. The 1 or 2 channels that broadcast DD wasn't worth paying what I did for the DSS. But it is IR compatible, unlike Dish network's receiver.
