Fist, a ditto to those who have lauded the info and spirit of this thread. 2 problems:

1) I want to erase a few "learned" commands and remap instead to use that memory bank. Followed the manual's "976" advice, but it doesn't tell me when in the sequence to tell the remote what device the key to be erased is "under." I'm not yet desperate enough to try Josh's "980 - erase everything" scorched-earth solution, but need the learning room freed up, because ...
2) I can't find a 4 digit main code for my Denon DRA 1035R receiver. Called RS support, and they suggested I try 0004 or 1104, but neither those nor the 0160 works! This is not that old a receiver ...

A Denon code would be a lifesaver, but I'd settle for some key-by-key guidance on erasing my previously learned keys.

Thanks 1,000,000

Skip, Which Toshiba RPTV do you have and which code did you use to get the station ID and program title?

Clay,
To erase a "lerned" commands follow the sequence:
Device (TV, VCR...) P ** 976 * key * key **

Kazik,
Thanks - that's what I had tried, and it LOOKED like it was working (got the double flash after hitting the key-to-be-erased the second time at the end of the sequence), but somehow it doesn't clear it - the key still works in its old mode, and I still have no free space (after "erasing" 10 keys). My sequence (with flashes) actually looked like:
device,p* **,9*7*6**,key*,key**
Could it be that I have to hit P** again at the end of each "erasure"?
Thanks,
Clay

Somewhere in this thread there was a posting explaining that the code to erase a device key was 992. And, clearing a button was 994. I comes from an explanation from One For All, and it was also posted by [Link: mandala.com].
Anyway, the sequence seems to be:

Clearing A Device Key
1. Press the key you want to clear.
2. Press the P key until the LED blinks twice.
3. Press 9 9 2.
4. Press the device key twice.

Clearing a Button
1. Press the device key the button is assigned to.
2. Press the P key until the LED blinks twice.
3. Press 9 9 4.
4. Press the button you want to clear twice.

I hope this is helpful and correct info.

NEED RS 15-1994 CODES FOR SONY CASSETTE RECORDER
Model TC-WE605S.
I can't find them in the manual and the ones I did find don't seem to work my unit.
Can the RS 15-1994 operate a cassette recorder, and if so which device keys will accept the codes?
Can anyone help?

With all the undocumented capabilities of this great remote, I'm wondering if anyone has discovered a way to adjust the time the backlighting stays lit after hitting a button. I can pretty much do everything by feel, but for guests and other visitors who may not be familiar with the unit, just a second or two more would be nice. And it would prevent unwanted changes caused by htting buttons just to keep it lit.

Does anyone know how I can program the Personal tv button from the new 7100 dish remote to the RS 15-1994. Got all other function by learn function. Not out of memory. Whatever button I try, I get the single flash. When I try that button it powers off my reciever.

Would the RS-15-1994 be better than a Marantz MK2KMKII?
Anyone has experience with both?

Thanks

Do you mean the Marantz RC2000 MkII? If so, you're comparing a $250 remote to a $30 remote. The RC2000 is a heck of a lot more capable than the 1994... but do you need it?

That's the dilemma. The RS remote, Which by the way I bought a month or so ago and retunred because I didn't know about the extended codes, seems to do all that most people need.
I'm going to get it after work, again, and test it with all the helpful comments from this thread.
Thanks

Thanks to everyone for all the helpful information. I was in the market for a universal remote, and because of this forum I decided to purchase the 15-1994. I did, actually one for my wife and one for myself, and absolutely love them. But, of course, I have a question. After taking the time to program all the functions of all my devices, I was wondering if there was any possible way to dump one remotes memory to another. That would save a lot of programming time, and insure that both have exactly the same features programmed.

Here's my take on this remote. The first one I bought was a dud so I took it back and got another one. Very good remote (much better than the learning Cinema 6 I'm replacing). My biggest concern was getting all the buttons set up for the DISH 7100 sat receiver. My advice for anyone who is going to be using the "learning" feature a lot is to save yourself some hassle and just do the "P**,980" memory clearing function first before programming anything. As mentioned before in this thread, this seems to free up more memory than would be available if you just started programming out of the box. At first I couldn't fit all the options from the new DISH 7100 into the memory but after starting fresh using the "980" command, everything fit. This remote is a dream (at least for $30!) Now I just have to teach my wife how to use it... She just figured out the Cinema 6 a couple of weeks ago. Oh well.

Scott, I have a Toshiba TN55X81, the extended code for XDS is 449 (it was listed as "EDS" on the Toshiba TV list from starbase).
