Does anyone know the reason why the 7000 is shipping with only half it's memory accessable by the software?
Is this a bug they couldn't fix in time and didn't want to delay the relase or is it a marketing trick?
If it is the latter, I cannot imagine why...

Philips said when the product was first released that the 32 Mb capability would come later.

They probably designed it to work with 16mb, then decided to double up to 32mb when producing the hardware. But with everything designed to only access 16mb, apparantly things need to be reprogrammed for 32mb.
