I've read that the TSU7000 has had some issues with the four hard buttons under the screen. I am able to program the three right ones fine (for a Tivo). I program the one on the left and in the edit software everything seems fine, including testing it with the remote connected to the PC. I can see the IR signal being sent on the remote in that case. When I disconnect the remote from the PC, the signal is not sent. I don't know if the button is bad or if this is an issue with the firmware. The firmware on the remote is 3.8.17.
Also, I noticed that the labels on the bottom of the screen for the 4 hard buttons are live. I can touch them and they work like standard soft buttons, including the one on the left.
Any thoughts?

I seem to recall that there is a setting in the firmware (enter settings) that controls either the left or right button under the screen. Might be worth having a look.

Scratch that. It was the Cursor Navigation I was thinking about that is controlled by the button at the top-left of the 4 way keypad.

You may just have a sticky disc or some junk inside it. Might be worth taking the unit apart with a Torx wrench T6 I think to clean it up. Use isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip to gently clean the contacts on the circuit board under the screen.

Somewhere here on this site are screen shots of disassembling a 7000 remote.

Got a 7500. Works fine. I'll take the 7000 apart when I have the time.
Thanks
