Got my 3000 last week, got it all programmed (even though I ran into some of the common problems discussed here) and I LOVE it! Except for one thing....And maybe I'm just missing something in PENG. I want to assign IR codes to the 4-way cursor button in the middle there on the botton. Basically to take the place of the buttons that resemble that control on my DVD and satellite receiver remotes. So I tried to do that (assign the codes) and no workey...all that control did was move between pages within the same device (right or left) or between devices (up or down). Any idea if it is possible to use that control the way I've envisioned?

Thanks!

Greg

Go to the device properties page for the device that you want to program the cursor. This will bring up an image of the Pronto remote. Click on the button that you want to use. Make sure that special action is not checked. Now you can can use any of the 5 actions you want for the hard button you selected.

I think he has to turn off "cursor navigation" in settings, then the 4-way cursor button will do what he wishes.

Thanks to Willy...
To turn "cursor navigation"..Press and hold the tools button on the remote for 3 seconds, when the tools screen appears, press the Pronto Icon, then press the screens button (1/3) for screen 1/1 and select setup2.
Now toggle the "Cursor Naviation" to off.

The way to toggle "cursor navigation" On/Off is to goto the settings page by pressing the activity icon (which is between device-left & device-overview button). In the second settings page, you can enable/disable cursor-navigation.
Another adv. of cursor-navigation mode is as follows: When u r in cursor-navigation mode, the cursor keys are used to naigate between pages and devices. If you press the Navigation toggle button which is below the firm key 1, cursor navigation is temporarily turned-off and you can perform all the actions that are specified under the cursor keys. we can press the toggle button again to return to navigation mode.

Just FYI: Turning off the cursor nav as Archer mentioned above freed up my nav hard button to send IR codes. I am now surfing my satellite and DVD screens with hard-button ease! Thanks a million for everyone's input!
