Ok you experienced programmers , Help. I have media room with all kinds of components, Sony LCD, Denon Receiver, Pioneer CD Player, Sony Blue Ray, Pioneer SS Receiver All Work Great with the 7000. The problem is with the 7000 remote and the direct tv codes for this receiver. I have tried direct learning , hex codes , 10 % of the time it works , 90 percent it dose not work. I use the origional remote no problem. It seem the the philips just dose not like to learn or perform the codes. Is it a bad remote? Is it that at the time the philips was manufactured it did not meet the learning ability for the new direct tv codes. Cant learn newer Direct TV receivers range? I think its that but I wounder if anyone else found this in the field. Thanks for your input.

No issues with the 7000 and the HR20-700. Learning can be problematic with any pronto. Try downloading the codes from the file section.

I had the same issues with my Directv box a long time ago. Here's what fixed my issues.
1. johnsfine modified all my learned codes by increasing the lead out time. That eliminated 90% of my issues.

2. My components were originally behind a glass cabinet door but, now, the door has been removed. I think the glass may have been defracting IR signals because of a bevel in the glass.

3. The IR signal from the Pronto and the blasters runs a bit too hot for the sat box so I ended up putting a piece of Scotch invisible tape over the IR receiver on the box.

Those three things made a 99% difference. I now have virtually no issues with my sat box.

Ok After another of 4 hrs of More Trouble shooting I Replaced The Direct TV Receiver To A HR 21 Brand New Out Of The Box. Now The Factory Remote Works Fine With The MS-210 and Msu 480 (Niles). No Problem . Try and Use The Philips TSU 7000 Through The MS-210 Wont Work, Try and Use A RTI T-3 Wont Work.
Heres What Kills Me I Call A Third Time To Niles To Get More Help And The Tech Says That They Have Specific Problems With The MS 210 The Newer Direct TV HD DVR Receivers . He Also Said Xantec and Rushsound . This Is More Than Just Moving The Flashers A little Left Of the Eye Or A Little Right, Or Putting Tape Over This. This Is Getting Crazy. From Now On It Looks Like If My Clients Wants HD TV Its Comcast Or Ant. Right Now It Works Great With The Factory Remote But These $900 Remotes
Out Of Luck. Ill Try Reprogramming With The New Remote On The Philips But It Was Giving Me A Hard Time. ??????????????

Sounds like you need clean hex codes, not learned. Seek out johnsfine, he was able to modify all my codes to work perfectly on my Directv box. Trust me, he knows what he's doing.

Does these include the on and off button for the Direct TVHR20-7000 receiver?

The Hr20s do not have discrete on/off codes.
Just leave it "on" all the time, 'off" just switches off the, lights, everything else is still running.

Ok Everyone, Maby Iam a little slow or miss understood someone at tech support but HOPEFULLY SOMEONE ELSE CAN LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES. After more phone callS to Xantech, Niles, ,Jamo and a few more co. I was told that if the problem is only with direct tv codes and using any micro sensor and flasher system. The factory remote works great with the system but when you use any master remote like philips, RTI,etc. Its signel is too strong and wont work. After additonal trying of moving the falsher further away from remote eye and adjusting the msu flasher output from hi to low, using different hex codes, was alot of wasted time. THE CURE WAS COVER THE MICRO SENSOR HALF WAY WITH BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE. By the way I am selling custom black electrical tape now for a low intro price of 19.99. Thanks Everyone and the Site for the HELP . From a 30 year experienced or now more experienced installer.
