That's it exactly.
JP1 remotes are low cost and more flexibly programmable
than Pronto's or other higher cost universal remotes.
The major disadvantage of a JP1 remote compared to those
others is the button labels are pre printed and won't
match the functions you program on those buttons.
But I don't want to look at the remote anyway while using
it. If I don't look, I need to know button function by
position, not label. So those wrong labels don't matter.
RTI remotes, like crestron are for custom installers only, I think people that came to RC are the ones that want to program for themself.
Like me I think a lot of guys just don't want to call (and pay) your dealer everytime you want to change something in our systems.
