What is a good program I can use to make buttons and icons. I don't know were to or what to look for.

PaintShop Pro, Xara X, Xara 3D, Corel Draw, Photoshop, LView Pro (Shareware - Google It), GIMP (Free - Google It). MSPaint.exe included with Windows works OK for doing non-transparent images.
