I have owned a Pronto Pro NG TSU 7000 for about 1.5 years and have a fairly extensive configuration. I just bought a bunch of new equipment and for some reason I can't get the learn function to work at all. I can upload and download to the device so I know the connection is working but everytime I press learn I get this message: "Failed to learn the IR code. Please try again. (0102)."
I learned a bunch of codes initially when I set this up and everything worked fine. I have tried 4 different remotes, at varying distances, and nothing seems to work. I think I must be forgetting something or doing something stupid but I can't figure it out. Any ideas? Have you heard of the hardware failing for "learning?"
Thanks.

It appears to me that you're trying to learn codes while the 7000 is connected to your computer via the USB cable?
This method can be really flakey. Try downloading your configuration to the 7000 and then use the free-standing 7000 to learn the codes from the remotes.
Also, fluorescent lighting can interfere.

Larry:
Thanks for the reply. The unit will not accept codes when unattached as well. I tried that already. I am really baffled and I am actually stuck. Besides sending the unit in for repair, my only other choice is to copy and paste codes I find and see if they work.

I have found the same problem learning codes (connected to the PC or not) whenever there is bright light - natural or fluoro. I always learn codes with a dark cloth or card over both the Pronto and the original remote and it always works without a problem.
