I have a problem with some of my old macros. I have a Sony XBR TV and sometimes I need to engage vertical squeeze. I do it by going to the menu, navigating to setup, scrolling to the selection and toggling it. With my old TSU1000 everything was working perfectly. With TSU3000, the navigation keys (left, right, etc.) are "pressed" multiple times as a result of one call from the macro. That means that I end up on the wrong menu item. I've tried both learning the codes and selecting from the database -- the result is the same. Any ideas?

I have the same issue with a Sony Plasma, I have to navigate the Menu to turn on Closed Captions.

The good news is that sometimes works and others not (a firmware may fix this)

I removed all the delays from the macro and it is better, still, sometimes it gets crazy.

Thanks, I'll try to remove delays. I have an upgraded firmware (whatever was posted here).

Update: no dice. With delays it skips twice, without delay it skips once, but it still skips.

I've had this problem on the TSU2000 and I found that the best way to fix it is to learn the "short" codes. What I mean is that when you teach that button, you only press it momentarily. Quickly press and release. Then the Pronto doesn't learn the "repeat" part of the code and your macro may work better.

Jere, thanks. That was the first thing I tried (I even created a "clean" code using IRTool), but then TSU3000 doesn't execute it at all -- whether from the macro button or from the button press itself.

Just got my TSU3000 tonight, my first trully programable remote!! Have a Sony Wega that I also like to compress. The macro (progamed from the remote, still haven't gotten it to work when I program the same thing from PENG) that worked for me was menu, left, down, down, down, right, up, menu. The odd thing is that if I was to do it by hand it would be menu, 2 lefts, 5 downs, right, up, menu. I just had to play with it untill I got lucky. By the way this is with no delays. I dought your menu is set up exactly the same way, but who knows luck is funny sometimes.

I was also having problems with the macro for the CC on the Sony TV (or anything in the menu system). The problem is that with the sony cursor keys, one push and it goes one step in that direction, hold the key and it cycles. I had a code that came over from my 2000 conversion that made the left key only go left no mattter how long it was held. By taking this code and applying it to the other cursor keys I now have a macro that works everytime (so far anyway). At first I was having shutdowns when I played the macro but after changing the batteries they disappeared. I'm sure there is a better/cleaner code to do this but these do work for me. this one repeats the code 3x. Most equipment need a small number of repeats (for confirmation), Archer's codes are repeating 6x

Like I've said before, I know nothing about how the codes work, other than what works for me. The code that you say repeats 6x (the long one labeled nonrepeat) actually does only one command with no repeats no matter how long the button is pressed. The short code that I have labeled as repeating, keeps repeating as long as the button is pressed.

the 004E 0000 tells the Pronto not to repeat any part of the long code that comes after it, but the long code is really 6x the code that you had in what you called the repeat button

I kinda understand what your saying, but the code would not work if I put only 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 of the "Repeats". If had to have all six or PENG would not accept the code. I've read Barry's IR sheet but it is still a little over my head right now. I enjoy your posts, keep up the good work.

To be honest, with 1-5 problem I don't remember if PENG wouldn't accept the code or if it just didn't work control the Sony. I didn't play around with it to much since it worked with the six repeats.
