I have the IR543 IR-X10 converter and an older remote. I think I bought the URC-4050 about 4 years ago. I was able to get the X-10 code programmed into the remote by changing my AUX1 button to CD (since my CD button is used for my...CD). I am able to turn off my X-10 appliance module by pressing the Mute button, but I cannot get anything to turn on. Does anyone know the commands for X-10?

MUTE should actually turn everything off.
Use POWER to turn all the lights on.
Use the number keys to select a device, then use
CH+ to turn the selected device on, and
CH- to turn it off.
If the selected device is a light, use
VOL+ to brighten it, and
VOL- to dim it.

If any of your devices are set to unit codes 10 thru 16, use these buttons to select them:

10 - zero
11 - rewind
12 - play
13 - f.forward
14 - record
15 - stop
16 - pause
