I have been scouring this site and the web in the hopes to find a solution to a problem I'm experiencing with my remote. I kept finding myself back here so decided to register and see if any of you might be able to offer some suggestions :-)
I have the one for all 9911 w/command center and really do like it. The problem I'm having is I can't reset it. I have all new equipment and just want to return to factory settings. The 'set' button doesn't seem to respond and other buttons seem to be hit and miss in whether they respond.
I had only used it for a few months (it worked great!) and then my stuff went into storage for a couple of years. When I unpacked it I saw that it had batteries still in it..I'm wondering if while packed some obscure key combination got pressed that just completely tanked the ui.
I would rather not have to go out and buy a new one. I know remotes aren't that expensive but I use it with the command center to control equipment located in another room. So unless I can get an inexpensive remote to use with the command center, costs appear to climb pretty quickly.
Does anyone know of any alternative ways to reset it? Maybe another key combination not using the 'set' key. I've put in fresh batteries and see the display come up ok. I've let it sit without the batteries hoping it might clear. I can't even confirm it works, as programmed, because I don't have the same equipment anymore. Not sure what else to try.
I've seen some references to using a jp1 cable to program it. Would this cable provide me additional alternatives to reset it? The cost of the cable would be worth it if I get the remote working and to do future programming.
The codes can be updated via modem, is it maybe possible to reset it with an audio file?
Thanks so much for any help you might be able to offer. Jacqui

You can't do a thing on the remote itself without a working SET key, sorry.

Just open it up and clean the contacts. A credit card works great. Just make sure you get all the screws out first.
