I recently acquired a PBO Core, which is merely a rebranded version of the Box Office with updated labeling and firmware. I don't believe the IR protocols have changed from the earlier incarnation.
Since my B00 remote doesn't have the 0575, 1224 or 2185 device codes, is there a suggestion for one that will work?
I've tried using the PVR/DVD/VCR 2010 device code after reassigning it to the AUX device key and it won't respond.

The setup codes that mdavej suggested are NEC1 IR protocol, device 73. The 8820B00 doesn't have any setup codes which can send that device number.
If you want to stcik with the 8820, you could buy the 8820N version, or you could buy/make a JP1.2 cable.
If you can find a Radio Shack store that has 15-100/133/134/135 remotes in stock ($1 -$3 on clearance), those will work. So will Atlas remotes, and a number of European models.

Thanks, I understand now.
I really do like the OFA x820 series of remotes, and had been pondering a spare anyway, so I'll likely try to acquire another one. Too bad they seem to be drying up in the sales channels.
Are there any distinguishing features to help discern the N version from the B00 from just a glance at an unopened package? I believe I saw somewhere that the "O" in the logo is black instead of red. It also appears that the packaging may have a red motif instead of the older blue motif.
I don't want to mistakenly buy a B00 instead of an N, and this will likely have to be an online purchase, which carries the attendant risks, including misidentification, either intentionally or unintentionally, from sellers who aren't likely to be familiar with the nuances. It seems like most of these things are now sold by random "junk" or "NOS" stores.

Hi... Anyone have Pronto or LIRC for PBO (Patriot Box Office)? Can you upload or I'll upload to [Link: irremote.psiloc.com]. Thanks in advance.
