I just purchased a oneforall remote(model #urc-8060) yesterday hoping to clear off the coffee table. I have successfully programmed all of my electronics except for my Sony receiver (model str-695). I have entered all available codes (per instruction manual) but have not been able to "lock-in". I also tried the "search for code" (990) but to no avail... thanx in advance

You need to change the codeset your receiver responds to, from AV2 to AV1, see this thread. Then the codes in the kameleon will work.

I was able to change my Sony STR-DE597 receiver's code from the default of AV2 to AV1. Then, making AUX on my 8-1 15-2117 remote, using code 1258, I was able to turn the receiver on and off, plus vol and mute, but nothing else.

But, then I found that when I did wany to change a DTS the Sony's remote would not work nor would it allow me to turn the receiver on and off any more.

Can I have my cake and eat it too? I tried learning the Movie/Music button but got error.

Thanks, Kerry

I'm having similar problems with a Kameleon 8 and the STR-DE495, i can do vol +&- & power, however that's it. I've tried all the OfA codes, and also tried direct learning from my old remote.

I looked through the link provided by Edmund, I can't quite place how this relates!

Thanks for any help (PS - i'd love to just get the input select workgin)

The gist of the link I provided is, the sony setup codes in the 15-2116/7 don't accept advanced codes. But you can use the sony tape code 0243 instead, to get the commands from, then change back to the sony RVCR code 1058. The advanced code list for the sony receiver is here.

Hi edmund:

Not sure I understand:

Program device AUX to 0243 and then program the same AUX to 1058? Doesn't the 0243 code get overwritten when I reprogram the AUX for 1058? I must not be understanding something :=)

Thanks, Kerry

See the advanced codes(EFC) here, they can be added to the sony audio 0158. But the 2117 doesn't code 0158, so you can use the sony TAPE code 0243, which isn't under AMP or RVCR, it's a under TAPE. So program your AUX or AUDIO device with tape 0243, map the commands, then switch back to audio code 1058. The keys you pick to map the commands, make sure they aren't being used under setup code 1058. Say you want to the DVD command, here's how:

1. press AUX or AUDIO whichever you're using
2. press and hold P
3. press SELECT
4. scroll down until TAPE
5. enter 0-2-4-3
6. press SELECT
7. exit

1. press AUX or AUDIO
2. press and hold P
3. scroll down to KEYMOVER
4. press SELECT
5. press AUX or AUDIO
6. tap P
7. enter 1-9-1
8. press SELECT
9. press AUX or AUDIO
10. pick a key

now continue with other commands, when finished, reenter setup code 1058.

Thanks so much. I understand and believe I can do all until I get to" "now continue with other commands, when finished, reenter setup code 1058." I'm just not grasping how I could reenter setup code 0158 into my my AUX mode after I have set up the AUX mode for 0243.

Thanks for your patience,

Kerry

Just entering tape code 0243, will only control a sony tape deck. The advanced codes from the link I provided will control a sony receiver. When you change setup codes, the mapped advanced codes(EFC) WILL NOT CHANGE, unless you reset the device. So if you think just enter code 0243 is all you need to do, you're wrong. You need the commands from Setup code 1058 and the commands you can get from tape code 0243, together, to make a fully working device. I am through, sorry I no more to offer.

Sorry to kick an older topic, but just to avoid that everyone with a Sony receiver and an upgradable OneForAll changes his Sony from AV2 command mode to AV1 and then tries the codes 1058, 1158 or 1258 (these codes are designed to operate an older generation Sony devices):

Please download the Tuner/Audio setup codes 1758 & 1759

This thread is dealing with RS 2116/7, which isn't upgradable by phone nor can you send it in. And yes code 1758 is well known to this board.

Hmm, still reading "URC-8060" in the startpost.
