I can't get 'Device Assign' to work in MX-700 Editor.

I start with a new config, Right click MAIN, select Import Device.
Find the .mxd or.mxf file, open it. I then select Available Device(s),
the spot on MAIN to put it, and then click '>" . That brings up a
Device Assign page. No matter what I do here, the OK button stays
greyed out.

What am I doing wrong?

You need to select an item from the drop down menu. Previously, it wasn't necessary, but now it is required.

Thank you,

Damon, I assume you mean the list labeled 'Used External Devices'?

I do that (tried all of them) and also the lower box labeled 'Assign Device To'.

All combinations: none ever activates the OK button. My software is v1.12.255, just d/l from the website.

Oh, wait! Before you import a device, you need to create one. You can't just right click Main and import. The device needs to be imported directly to a device, if I remember correctly. That's why the "ok" button is not activating.

Thank you,
Damon DG

You don't need to create a device first to import one. You need to assign every one of the devices under 'Used External Devices' to a device under 'Assign Device To'.

Select the first one in the upper list then click something in the drop down list. Now select the next one in the upper list then click something in the drop down list. Do this for EVERY device in the upper list, each one needs to be assigned before the button will light up.

That's what I said before...Ericjb made it a bit clearer though. Thanks Eric! :)

I'm glad it's working for you now.

Thank you,
